Accessibility at Vivipod

Every student deserves a way to take part in the conversation. We build Vivipod with accessibility in mind so students and teachers with different abilities, access needs and ways of communicating can learn together.

Our accessibility goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Levels A and AA. These guidelines help us make Vivipod easier to use with a keyboard, a screen reader, enlarged text and other ways of navigating. We are still working toward that goal; our known limitations are listed below.

How we check accessibility

We run automated accessibility checks on every product change to help catch problems before they affect your classroom. On the pages and recording screens we test, we check that:

• You can use a keyboard to record, pause, review and post a response, move between controls and close dialogs with Escape.
• You can see where you are with a clearly visible keyboard focus indicator in light and dark themes.
• Hints are available with a keyboard or pointer, and you can dismiss them with Escape.
• You can skip repeated controls and reach the main content or recording controls more quickly.
• Content fits a narrow screen and remains readable when text spacing is increased.
• Buttons and other controls are easy to reach, with targets of at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels on the tested screens.

Testing with assistive technology

In September 2026, we tested signing in, using the dashboard, recording and posting a response, and viewing a post with a keyboard alone. We also tested these activities with VoiceOver on macOS, iPhone and iPad, and TalkBack on Android. We fixed the problems found in that review and added automated checks for them.

We repeat manual reviews as Vivipod evolves. Feedback from people using assistive technology in their classrooms helps us find barriers our tests miss.

Different ways to participate

Students can respond with audio, a screen share or a drawing without appearing on camera. These options let students contribute in a way that works for them.

Captions and transcripts are available on Vivipod Plus. The instructor enables them for each Topic, and a Space member presses CC to generate them. Only the Space owner needs Plus; students do not need their own subscription to read captions. See how to use captions and transcripts.

Our accessibility report

Our Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR) describes how Vivipod meets each guideline, what we tested and where support is incomplete. It uses the VPAT® 2.5Rev WCAG Edition format and includes our automated and manual testing results. It is our self-assessment, not an independent audit.

Known limitations

• Captions may contain errors and cannot be edited yet. We reviewed a sample that was accurate for clear classroom speech, but poor audio, background noise, unusual names and specialist vocabulary can affect accuracy. A transcript editor is planned. Contact us if a caption error makes a recording difficult to follow.
• Audio description is not available. Vivipod does not generate descriptions of visual content or provide a way to add an audio description track.

If any part of Vivipod is difficult or impossible for you to use, email support@vivipod.com. Tell us what you were trying to do and where you got stuck. If you know your browser, operating system or assistive technology, include those details too. You do not need technical details to ask for help.

We aim to reply within two business days. We will explain what we found, share any available way around the problem and tell you what we know about a fix. We update our accessibility information as barriers are resolved.
