Review and Publish Pending Posts

How space admins open a moderated Topic’s Pending queue, review student video posts, and publish them so the class can see the discussion.

When a Topic has Require approval for new posts turned on, student uploads do not appear for the whole class immediately. They land in Pending until a space admin reviews and publishes them.

This tutorial picks up after students have submitted. If you still need the record → upload path, see Record and Upload Your First Post or Join a Space and Post as a Student.

Open the Pending queue

Open your Space and select the Topic. Moderated Topics show Published and Pending counts. Choose Pending to list posts waiting for review.

Pending collects every submission that still needs admin review. Cards show author and a Pending badge.

Only space admins (and the Topic’s owner context) manage this queue. Students who submitted can still see their own pending card, but other members only see posts after Publish.

Review a post

Select a pending card. The post detail opens with playback, description, and admin actions. Watch the clip the way you would grade a short oral response: does it answer the prompt, stay on topic, and meet your length expectations?

Open a pending post to review video and description before you publish it for the class.

You can leave a post in Pending if it needs a resubmit or follow-up outside Vivipod. There is no separate “reject” workflow in the product UI yet—pending simply stays hidden from others until you publish.

Publish

Choose Publish. The post moves from Pending to the published feed. A short confirmation helps you confirm the action.

Publish makes the post visible to Space members under the Published tab.

Repeat for remaining pending items. In active weeks you may clear a queue of several students in one sitting.

Confirm the published feed

Switch to Published on the Topic. You should see the posts you approved alongside any earlier published work—diverse responses, shared archive, ready for comments if the Topic allows them.

After review, Published is the shared class view of the discussion.

Teaching tips

  • Model first. Post and publish one instructor example so students know the bar before their deadline.
  • Batch review. Moderate soon after a due time so Pending does not pile up across weeks.
  • Separate access from moderation. Private Space membership controls who can enter; Topic moderation controls which posts go public. You can use both.
  • Comments after publish. Peer feedback is more useful once posts are visible—see Comments, Mentions, and Feedback.
