A Space is the home for a course, section, or community in Vivipod. Topics and video posts live inside it. If you need an account, start with Get started with Vivipod.
You need to verify your email before creating a Space. If Vivipod asks you to verify, send a code to your inbox and enter the six digits. Signing in with an email code usually completes this step. If you use Google, follow the verification prompt if one appears.
Open your dashboard
After you sign in, Vivipod opens your dashboard. A new account has no Spaces yet. Use Create Space in the All Spaces section, or the + next to All Spaces. If the button is disabled, finish verifying your email first.
You can also open the form directly at
https://vivipod.com/{your-username}/spaces/new.
Fill in the Create New Space form
The form asks for a few details:
| Field | What to enter |

| Space Name | A clear label students will recognize (for example, “Psych 101 Discussions”). |
| Custom URL | The short name that appears in the Space's web address. Use letters, numbers, and hyphens. |
| Description | Tell students what the Space is for. This field is optional. |
| Access Level | Open (anyone can view; membership is automatic) or Private (approval required; only members can view). |
Choose Open if anyone with the link may view the Space. Choose Private if you want to approve members before they can see its content.
Choose Create Space when the fields look right.
What appears after creation
Vivipod opens the new Space. You own it, the URL follows
/{your-username}/{space-slug}, and a default General topic is ready for
posts (moderated by default).
From here you can:
- Rename or add Topics for weeks, units, or assignment prompts
- Share the Space link or use Share for Canvas and web embeds
- Record the first post into the General topic
Open vs private access (quick reference)
- Open: Anyone with the link can view. People can join without waiting for approval.
- Private: Only approved members can view. An admin reviews each join request.
As the Space owner, you can change its name, description, URL, and access level later in Space settings.
