Comments, Mentions, and Feedback

Enable comments on a Topic, leave text feedback with @mentions and optional video timestamps, and use the notification bell and email settings to stay in the loop.

Higher-ed educatorsFeedbackCommentsNotifications

A video post starts the discussion; comments carry the second turn—follow-up questions, peer notes, and instructor feedback without another full recording.

Comments are controlled per Topic and may require comments beta access on your account. For the product announcement and rationale, see Comments and Notifications.

Enable comments on a Topic

As a space admin, open the Topic’s Edit options and turn on comments when the control is available for your account. Save the Topic.

Comments are a Topic-level switch. Enable them on the discussions where written follow-up helps.

If the switch is disabled, request comments beta access via support@vivipod.com.

Open a post and the comment panel

From the Space, open a published post. The detail view shows the video and a Comments section. Empty Topics invite the first comment.

Comments sit beside the video so feedback stays attached to the specific post.

Moderated Topics should be published first—pending posts are not the place for class-wide discussion. See Review and Publish Pending Posts.

Write feedback: mentions and timestamps

Type in the comment field. Use @username to mention a Space member so they get dedicated mention activity. When the video is playing (or scrubbed), Insert current playtime can attach a timestamp so the reader jumps to the exact moment you mean.

Mentions pull someone back into the thread; timestamps point at a moment in the video.

Send the comment when ready. Students and instructors can reply in the same thread for a short written exchange under the video.

Notifications

The bell gathers activity across Spaces: comments on your posts, mentions, new Topic posts (for admins), membership requests, and approvals.

Open a notification to jump back to the Space, post, or membership action.

Learners see their own stream of mentions and related activity when they return to Vivipod.

Students rely on the same bell for approvals and discussion pings.

Email notification settings

Under account Settings → Notifications, choose how often you want email for comments, mentions, membership events, and digests (immediate vs daily, or off).

Tune email so important classroom activity reaches you without noise.

Teaching patterns

  • One targeted question under a strong post instead of a second recording
  • Peer feedback with a required @mention of the author
  • Timestamped notes on presentations or language samples
  • Instructor office-hours style comments after you publish the week’s queue

Checklist

  1. Edit Topic → enable comments (if available) → save
